Sonnet Youth is a spoken word houseparty, a literary rave, a poetic piss up - bringing together poets, authors, comedians, rappers and musicians for a night of no holds barred performances. Curated and hosted by Kevin P. Gilday and Cat Hepburn, Sonnet Youth has become a cultural phenomenon in Scotland's artistic calendar.

With an expanding roster of shows, Sonnet Youth now runs monthly showcases at Drygate, Glasgow and Gilded Balloon, Edinburgh; a scratch night and open mic at Phillies, Shawlands; one-off events for the likes of Merchant City Festival, Glasgow 2018 and Belladrum Festival as well as producing narrative spoken word shows such as the 4 star rated Confessionals by Victoria McNulty.

Previous guests at Sonnet Youth have included Darren 'Loki' McGarvey, Kieran Hurley, Gary McNair, Alan Bisset, Jenny Lindsay, Rab Florence, Kirstin Innes, Kirsty Logan and Declan Welsh.

‘Listen up as Sonnet Youth deserve your attention – Scotland’s cultural landscape would be far less interesting if they weren’t around.’
