REaD

In a world where redheads are strictly segregated and under curfew, red artists have been forced underground and have formed their own Red cabaret clubs. REaD focuses on one such club: The Scarlet Church where the performers’ illicit existence necessitates the keeping of Red secrets...

A cabaret within a play, REaD features song, dance, performance poetry and a hilarious rollercoaster ride through Red history from pre-Raphaelite exotica to social exclusion and popular culture.

A show that’s part catwalk, part political rally, part support group for underdogs everywhere, REaD is a unique celebration of individuality, resilience and the sheer joy of having red hair.

Devised piece in collaboration with Tidy Carnage productions. Debuted as part of Arches Live Festival 2014. Runner up - Platform 18 New Directions Award. Staged at Tron Theatre as part of Mayfesto 2015. Scottish Tour 2016, playing in Greenock, Edinburgh, Glasgow, St. Andrew's, Aberdeen and Inverness.
